Educational Meetings at Batumi Navigation University: Ship Safety and Maritime Education
In April 2025, students of Meridian College participated in educational meetings held at Batumi Navigation University, which were particularly informative and valuable from a professional perspective.
The first session, titled “Why Do Ship Collisions Still Occur at Sea? – The Role of COLREGs and Modern Challenges,” was led by experienced seafarer and Chief Officer Giorgi Gersamia.
The second meeting focused on “The Importance of Maritime Education for Maritime Navigation Students” and was delivered by Master Mariner Konstantine Bolkvadze.
The students actively participated in the meetings, received practical advice, and had the opportunity to ask questions of particular interest to them. Such engagement contributes to raising professional awareness and broadening students’ career perspectives.
