Mobility refers to the transfer of a vocational student from one vocational educational institution to another, or within the college from one program to another relevant program. Mobility is carried out in accordance with the legislation of Georgia and the procedures established by the college.
Mobility
Mobility may be used by a person who:
- is a vocational student;
- has acquired student status in accordance with the procedure established by law;
- is enrolled in a vocational educational institution at the time of submitting the mobility request;
- or has had their vocational student status temporarily suspended.
Mobility is possible only to a program for which the student meets the admission prerequisites.
Enrollment through mobility is generally possible no later than within two weeks from the start of studies in the relevant vocational educational program. In exceptional cases, the decision is made by the Executive Director of the College.
A student wishing to use mobility, their legal representative, or support person must submit a written application to the College. The application must indicate the vocational educational program in which the student wishes to be enrolled through mobility.
The application must be accompanied by:
- The document on the basis of which the student was enrolled in the educational institution;
- Copies of the documents contained in the vocational student’s personal file;
- Where necessary, information regarding the student’s status;
- Where necessary, information regarding the learning outcomes achieved by the student.
- The College has the right to request additional documents.
- If the documents are not submitted within the established timeframe, the College may refuse the mobility request.
For matters related to mobility, the student should contact the College administration. The College will provide the student with information regarding the required documents, deadlines, and mobility procedure.
The mobility application is reviewed by the relevant commission established within the College. The commission examines the submitted documents and prepares a recommendation on whether to enrol the student through mobility or to refuse the request.
The final decision is made by the Executive Director of the College. In the case of a positive decision, the student shall be enrolled in the relevant vocational educational program under the mobility procedure.
The College may refuse enrollment through mobility if:
- There is no available place in the relevant program;
- The student does not meet the admission prerequisites for the program;
- The College is unable to ensure the student’s further studies, taking into account the specific characteristics of the program.
During the mobility process, the College examines the extent to which the learning outcomes achieved by the student in another programme correspond to the programme to which the student wishes to transfer. Following this comparison, it is determined which learning outcomes may be considered as already achieved.
If a vocational educational program is changed or discontinued, the College will provide the student with the relevant information and assist the student in continuing their studies.
The student may:
- continue studying in the program in which they are enrolled, if this is possible;
- or exercise the right to mobility and transfer to a relevant program.
If the relevant vocational educational program is no longer implemented at the College, the College shall, in agreement with the student, facilitate the student’s mobility to another vocational educational institution. In such cases, priority shall be given to safeguarding the student’s best interests.
