Maritime Practice – for Deck Ratings
The Maritime Practice – for Deck Ratings module represents a practical stage in which students apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired in a real working environment. Students learn to organize the workplace effectively and use material and technical resources properly. The module places particular emphasis on compliance with occupational safety, sanitary-hygienic and environmental protection standards.
During the practice period, students perform professional tasks under supervision and participate in daily work processes. Students learn to allocate work within the available time, complete assigned tasks and meet deadlines. The module develops practical skills in the proper use of materials, tools and equipment.
Students learn to check the quality of completed work and, in case any deficiencies are identified, to inform the appropriate responsible person. An important part of the module is maintaining a practice diary and documenting the work performed. Students prepare a report or presentation on the work carried out during the practice period.
Upon completion of the module, students are ready to perform the main functions of a deck rating in a real working environment.
