Students of Meridian College visited the Batumi Seaport Museum, where they learned about the history of the Port of Batumi, maritime activities, and its modern infrastructure

Memorandum of Cooperation – Batumi Sea Port

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Meridian Maritime Training Center and Batumi Sea Port.

Within the framework of this cooperation, vocational students of Meridian College will have the opportunity to complete practical training at Batumi Sea Port.

The memorandum also covers the retraining and professional development of seafarers employed on the port’s vessels, including participation in relevant training courses at Meridian Maritime Training Center.

The match was held in a friendly and active atmosphere. Such events help strengthen cooperation among students, promote a healthy lifestyle, and support the development of joint projects in the future.

Practical Training at Meridian’s Training Facility

Practical training at Meridian’s training facility is conducted in an environment designed to closely replicate real working conditions. Students work directly with equipment and perform safety-related, technical, and operational tasks. This approach provides them with the practical experience required for working onboard a vessel and strengthens their overall professional readiness.

Presentation and Review of Practical Training Results

Spring 2024 Intake – Students of the Spring 2024 intake successfully presented the results of their practical training. The practical training experience was summarized and reviewed. The purpose of the meeting was to analyze the students’ practical experience and assess the knowledge and skills they had acquired.

International Conference on Education Quality Development

A two-day international conference was organized by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement to mark the 15th anniversary of the Center’s establishment and the 20th anniversary of Georgia’s participation in the Bologna Process.

The event focused on the achievements and challenges related to the development of the quality assurance system in vocational education. The conference was attended by the Head of Educational Process Support at Meridian College.
